I started out working at Williamston Theatre as an apprentice for their 2012-2013 season. After I completed my apprenticeship I was hired back as the following season's Assistant Lighting Designer and Master Electrician and occasionally I worked on other jobs, like house management. I enjoy working there because it's such a great environment. Everyone can openly express their opinions and everyone participates in true, quality collaboration. You couldn't ask for a more supportive team, where everyone cares about maintaining high standards while still having fun. I am choosing to try and raise $500 towards their 10th season because I strongly believe in what they do. Theatre is important. Art is important. It helps us feel, it helps us think about things in new and different ways. Williamston Theatre does all of this and more.
What else does the Williamston Theatre do? They tell stories. They impact our community. They touch hearts. They change lives. The Williamston Theatre has made it to Season Ten - an amazing accomplishment during these economically challenging times - achieved through prudent management and a dedication to excellence. Just last year, the American Theatre Wing recognized our little theatre as one of the 12 most promising up-and-coming theatres in the entire country. By becoming a donor to the Williamston Theatre, you will help the Williamston Theatre to continue to bring joy to people through high quality, theatrical storytelling, create important jobs for Michigan artists, and preserve the unique voice of the Midwest. And you will help them meet a $10,000 challenge match that has been pledged by one of their major donors.
